• 2.0 out of 5 stars from Marijo -- Good but a bit boring : I've read all 3 of these books, and absolutely loved the first 2 this one I found a bit too predictable and the story was a bit boring. I'm not sure I liked how the story progressed with her current family sharing in her travels I found this a bit too silly (well like time travel in-it-self isn't silly, but it's fun to read). I like the suspense when she has to deal with this on her own. But the end although I knew it was coming was a bit of a cliffhanger but not as much as the end of the second book. I was hoping to see a little bit on how Fairfax dealt with the future & modern days, adding a bit of a twist on time traveling to the future. I enjoyed the book and it was a good story held my interest somewhat but not as good as the first 2 books. ( Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2020 )

• 3.0 out of 5 stars from L. L. -- This is #3 in a series and won't disappoint you until the ending! : For those of you that have read the first two books in this series, you won't be disappointed. For those new to this series, you'll get an update, and won't be lost, to what the story's about. In fact, I feel this one is, (so far) more interesting and written at a better pace than the last (2 books). The main character has decisions to make on who she can share this "part gift", "part nightmare" with, to keep her loved ones safe, and "if she can"...would give away too much. I’m going to save you months of pain and waiting. Try to read this one in summer/fall of 2021. The fourth book comes out in November, 2021. I don’t know how I’m going to wait that long to find out what happens. You’ve been warned. A great series of adventure through time with a female heroine. Xanthe is coming to terms that Fairfax has manage to travel to her time and is putting her family and friends at risk and is demanding that she turns over the book spinners to him . The object in this adventure that is singing to her is a beautiful antique wedding dress . Realising the dress and her adversary are connected in the some way , she answers the call and finds herself in Bradford-on-Avon in 1815. We have the romance of the seventeen century with a heroine that is every bit twenty-first who is willing to put her life on the line. Once again Paula Brackston has produced a page turner of the highest quality and has a twist in the tale that sets up the next book, City of Time and Magic due later this year.
